The Winchester Engineering and Analytical Center of the FDA is actively seeking a full-time ORISE fellow to pioneer the development of adaptable radiochemical separation techniques applicable across various detection methodologies for identifying radioactive contaminants in food. Faculty Position – Clemson University
The Clemson University School of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences (SCEEES) invites applications to fill a tenured/tenure-track position with a focus on Geo-Environmental Engineering. Candidates are desired with expertise in one or more of the following areas: subsurface transport and remediation of organic, inorganic, metals, and radioactive contaminants, radioactive waste isolation, geologic storage and production of hydrogen, geological carbon sequestration, subsurface energy storage, brownfield development, municipal, industrial, and mining waste containment systems, re-use of waste materials, and reduction of climate change and sea level rise impacts. A Fall 2024 appointment is anticipated with the position at the assistant or associate professor level. Staff Scientist Opening – LANL
The Energy and Natural Resources Security Group (EES-16) in the Environmental Sciences (EES) Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) has an opening for a staff scientist position either at the Scientist 2 or Scientist 3 level, depending on the skills and experience of the selected candidate. We are looking to hire a motivated and enthusiastic scientist, with a strong background in experimental geochemistry and repository science to support our group’s various R&D efforts in spent fuels disposal and safety case analysis. Principal Radiochemist – TerraPower
TerraPower Isotopes® is deploying innovative expertise to create the next generation of isotopes and to support the advancement of technologies with the potential to change the face of oncology treatment.
TPI seeks to support revolutionary radiotherapies for treatments of cancers, such as prostate cancer, colorectal cancer, and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma by supplying radioisotopes that currently cannot be accessed in amounts required to develop medical treatments. The Principal Radiochemist will support TPI’s efforts toward the long-term production of actinium 225, leveraging specific expertise and experience working with radionuclides at scales relevant to this goal.
This position interfaces with a dynamic interdisciplinary environment in which effective communication, team-work and collaboration is required, while maintaining composure to act safely, ensure quality of data, and enable timely decision-making. The position will require good judgement in ensuring regulatory compliance while delivering on commercial production and engineering design needs. Faculty Positions – University of Central Florida
1) The Department of Chemistry at the University of Central Florida is seeking to hire a tenure track Assistant Professor and one of the disciplines of interest is Radiochemistry. All areas of radiochemistry/nuclear chemistry are welcome and will be considered. Principal Radiochemist – TerraPower
TerraPower, LLC is on a mission to build a highly efficient, low-cost and carbon-free energy solution to help utilities and industries reach decarbonization goals. We are seeking a highly talented and motivated candidate for the position of Principal Radiochemist to directly contribute and take leadership roles to fulfill this mission. The Principal Radiochemist will directly be involved in experiments related to the Molten Chloride Fast Reactor (MCFR) technology and is expected to work at the interface of nuclear reactor development and novel waste reduction technologies. The candidate should have demonstrated laboratory capabilities in radiochemical experimental design and implementation. It is anticipated the candidate may serve as Principal Investigator (PI) on several experimental efforts.
This position interfaces with a dynamic cross-functional, multi-cultural, interdisciplinary team in which effective communication, teamwork and collaboration is required, while maintaining composure to act safely, ensure quality of data, and enable timely decision-making. The position requires contribution to experiment design, execution, and data analysis on chloride based molten salt systems that directly contributes to address gaps in understanding of molten salt chemistry that are needed to transition to a demonstration reactor program. Some specific requirements of the position involve (but are not limited to) actinide salt synthesis, salt analysis and characterization, and thermodynamic and kinetic property measurements of actinides and fission products in high temperature molten salts.
