The position involves overseeing ICP-MS laboratory operations to support radiological dose assessments, ensuring analytical accuracy, and maintaining compliance with accreditation standards.

The qualifications include:

                BS in chemistry, radiochemistry, or related field with 2+ year of lab experience

                Strong ICP-MS skills and troubleshooting abilities

                (Preferred) MS degree and/or experience with ParinElmar ICP-MS instruments or DOELAP accredited program

Temp Chemist – WIPP/Navarro

Navarro also provides program/project management support as well as audits/assessments and implementation of scientific programs.

This position will be responsible for developing a framework for an internally consistent and complete thermodynamic database, including derivation of Pitzer parameters for currently unparameterized actinide systems, particularly plutonium (Pu) and uranium (U); and for establishing an upper boundary on redox conditions in a deep geological repository.

Post-Doc Position – SRNL

SRNL’s Environmental and Legacy Management Directorate is seeking a qualified Post-Doctoral Research Associate to help grow and strengthen the on-line monitoring portfolio and team in the Analytical and Tank Farm Characterization organization.  

The Post-Doc Research Associate will provide technical assistance to projects that support the on-line monitoring missions of SRNL. These missions include maintaining and growing lab and DOE Complex capability for chemical measurements in nuclear processing environments.  As such, the candidate will collaborate with actinide scientists and engineers at SRNL, other national laboratories, and at SRS processing facilities. 

This position entails the application of process analytical chemistry to issues of national security and nuclear nonproliferation.  Candidates will also collaborate with SRNL colleagues in other areas as subject matter experts in spectroscopy and other analytical techniques. Candidates will be expected to actively publish and present their research to scientific audiences.

The Postdoctoral Research Associate positions are fixed term assignments within the company and benefits eligible.

Research Scientist – NY Dept of Health

There is an opening for a radiochemist in the New York State Department of Health.

The Laboratory of Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry (LINC) is a fully accredited laboratory responsible for monitoring New York State’s nuclear power plants, responding to requests for radiological laboratory support for statewide incidents, participating to radiological emergency response activities, and protecting the food supply from harmful radioactive contamination. A Research Scientist is needed to provide technical and scientific support for nuclear regulatory matters and oversee day-to day quality assurance for all radioactivity measurements in environmental and food samples.

Post-Doc Position – LANL/WIPP

The radiolysis project in the Actinide Chemistry and Repository Science Program has started work which consists of investigating the degradation of some organics (EDTA, citrate) under alpha radiolysis in saline conditions. This work is based in Carlsbad, NM, but frequent trips to Los Alamos are needed when performing the irradiation part of the work.

The individual hired will be expected to begin as soon as possible, and will be leading this effort with support and supervision of the current staff who initiated this work.
