Postdoctoral Fellowship Position – University of Missouri Research Reactor Center
The University of Missouri Research Reactor Center (MURR) is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to work on projects related to radiochemistry and radiopharmaceutical development. Candidates should have Ph.D. training in radiochemistry, inorganic chemistry or similar field, preferably completed within the past five years. The successful candidate will work on radiometal chelation systems synthesis and labeling of molecular probes, such as peptides and nanoparticles, for applications in diagnostic imaging and targeted radiotherapy of disease and/or infection. The candidate will publish research findings and participate in grant writing. Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in an interdisciplinary setting are essential. Experience in working with radioactive materials is desirable but not necessary. Faculty Position in Radiochemistry at University of Nevada Las Vegas
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas is accepting applications for a tenure-track Full Professor position in Radiochemistry, beginning July 1, 2016. The UNLV Radiochemistry Program (http://radchem.nevada.edu) conducts diverse research in the chemistry of technetium and the actinides in solids, solutions, the environment, and chemical synthesis. Successful applicants will be expected to develop a rigorous, externally funded research program that contributes to the Radiochemistry program research and education mission. Exploiting existing radiochemistry laboratory equipment and facilities is desirable. A successful professor candidate will also provide leadership in the program and with respect to ongoing or emerging research initiatives while contributing to the education and research excellence of the program. The ability to mentor graduate and undergraduate students in a research-intensive environment and in radiochemistry laboratory techniques and methods is essential. The ability to teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in chemistry and radiochemistry is also required. Postdoctoral Research Opportunity in Nuclear Forensics, University of Notre Dame
We are seeking a geochemist, environmental radiochemist, or individual from closely aligned discipline to study, characterize and investigate the geochemical behavior of radionuclides in the environment, and/or aid in developing new isotopic standards using advanced spectroscopic and micro-beam techniques for the purposes of forensic analysis of nuclear materials. The candidate will help design, conduct and oversee laboratory experiments involving oxidative dissolution or speciation of nuclear materials, and/or detailed chemical and isotopic characterization of nuclear materials and certified standards at high spatial resolution. The candidate is expected to apply advanced spectroscopic and analytical techniques (e.g., LA-(MC)-ICP-MS, SIMS, SEM, TEM, FIB, XAS) to characterize laboratory and natural samples. The candidate will work in an interdisciplinary research team at the University of Notre Dame, and scientists and staff from the Nuclear and Radiochemistry Group (C-NR) at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Faculty Position in Experimental Nuclear Science at Michigan State University
Michigan State University (MSU) is seeking outstanding candidates for a faculty position in experimental nuclear science. MSU is establishing the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) as the leading rare isotope scientific user facility for the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science and is operating the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory (NSCL) as a world-class laboratory for nuclear science with funding from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF).
The successful candidate is expected to establish a successful, internationally recognized research program that complements ongoing research efforts and that takes advantage of the capabilities of NSCL now and FRIB in the future. Research at NSCL addresses key questions concerning the creation of the elements in the cosmos, the limits of nuclear stability, the production and properties of nuclei with very unusual neutron-to-proton ratios, the equation of state of neutron-rich nuclear matter as it may exist inside neutron stars, as well as tests of fundamental symmetries and the search for interactions beyond the standard model. New areas of research include harvesting of long-lived isotopes for societal applications and other technical innovations.
Faculty appointments will be in the FRIB/NSCL faculty system at a rank commensurate with experience. FRIB/NSCL faculty members typically have joint appointments in an MSU academic department, such as Physics and Astronomy or Chemistry, where they are expected to teach courses and supervise graduate students. Research Faculty Position in Radiochemistry – Hunter College (CUNY)
Hunter College of the City University of New York is seeking applications for a Research Associate to conduct research in Radiochemistry and to assist Hunter faculty members in Radiochemistry Research. The Radiochemistry Research Associate (RA) will interface with the laboratories of Hunter College Chemistry and other science faculty and faculty at partnering institutions within and outside of New York City to facilitate interdisciplinary research projects that possess a component of radiochemistry and/or molecular imaging.
The RA will have a strong background in radiochemistry to facilitate application of radiochemistry and contribute to the multidisciplinary projects of Hunter College and partnering institutions. The Radiochemistry Research Associate will assist in the design of radiochemistry experiments for research projects, and will work with students and their mentors to implement these experiments.
The Radiochemistry Research Associate will provide the appropriate radiation safety training for Hunter College students, staff, and faculty and will work with the Enviomental Health and Safety Office to assure compliance of established protocols and safety regulations. The RA will maintain specialized radiochemistry instrumentation at Hunter College. The RA will set up teaching laboratories for radiochemistry and molecular imaging courses.
The RA will have strong communication skills and will be responsible for report writing, manuscript writing, and proposal writing.

Required:

2. Evidence of the potential for establishing and maintaining an outstanding research program is required. Such evidence may include a strong publication history in peer-reviewed journals, letters of recommendation, and a professional research proposal (including estimated startup budget requirements and estimated cost) in the area of nuclear chemistry/radiochemistry. The research proposal submitted by the applicant is an essential component of the application and should demonstrate the applicant’s potential for obtaining major external funding.
3. The successful candidate must be qualified to teach at both the graduate and undergraduate level in the nuclear chemistry/radiochemistry curriculum, related areas of chemical science, and in the general chemistry program. The potential for developing excellent teaching skills is essential.
4. The successful applicant must possess the potential to excel as a supervisor and mentor to graduate and undergraduate students.
5. Excellent spoken and written English language skills are essential.
6. Candidate for Associate Professor requires at least 6 years as an assistant professor or equivalent.
Preferred:
At least one year (12 months) of Postdoctoral experience or equivalent. The ability to excel in a culturally diverse environment is highly preferred.
